Let’s raise a glass (or pumpkin-scented candle) to that fateful day in 2003.

It’s hard to imagine a time when the PSL — that sweet, sweet harbinger of fall — wasn’t on the forefront of our minds (and lips) each and every autumn. But just 15 years ago this past spring, the pumpkin spice latte — almost named the ‘Fall Harvest Latte’ (oh the horror!) — was just a germ of an idea incubating at Starbucks’ Liquid Lab in Seattle, set to hit test markets later that fall. The rest is history.
